For many, gathering with friends and family under the glow of the moon when it is at its brightest and fullest during Mid-Autumn Festival is a time-honoured tradition. Paper lanterns in hand, sweets and little cups of tea on the table, streets lined with colourful, blinking lights – it is a beautiful, yet cosy affair. The part that we all look forward to the most? The mooncakes, of course! Sweet, chewy and undeniably indulgent, mooncakes are the ultimate Mid-Autumn Festival must-have.
And, just when you thought it couldn’t get any sweet – in every sense of the word – Crystal Jade swoops in with their adorable Mickey & Friends bite-sized snowskin mooncakes! In Pandan Lotus with Gula Melaka and Chocolate with Manuka Honey, these are the perfect way to add some Disney flavour into your festivities. To top it all off, they come in a rose gold carousel box that plays the iconic “Mickey Mouse March”!
To kickstart mooncake season, we went around the Disney office to hear what our fellow cast members think about these little rounds of deliciousness. Here we go!
“Possibly the scrumptious-est mooncakes I’ve had in a while! Let’s just say that if I were in a social setting and these were on the table, I’d be tuned out from the conversations happening and only be staring at these.” – Haikal Mohamed
“The chocolate is so rich, it feels so indulgent. The pandan flavoured mooncake with the gula melaka centre felt familiar, like mom’s cooking. It reminds me of ondeh-ondeh – but in a mooncake.” – Elvira Stofregen
“Imagine thick, decadent chocolate fudge, then imagine it wrapped in snowskin. Next, imagine traditional pandan lotus mooncakes, then give it a heart reminiscent of nyonya kueh. I’ll have two more, thanks!” – Candice Chua
“These are rich, sweet and taste natural!” – Rebecca Lou
“The chocolate with manuka honey might actually be the best chocolate mooncake I’ve ever had – it’s pure chocolate!” – Serena Gan
