CELEBRATE THE YEAR OF THE PIG WITH THESE PIGLET CUPCAKE CONES

These Piglet Cupcake Cones, featuring the adorable fellow from the Hundred Acre Wood, are perfect for dessert with your family. He is cute and loyal, and he’s always showing great bravery despite his tiny frame. Honour Pooh’s BFF in this Year of the Pig with this tasty treat inspired by him!
Ingredients
For Egg Yolk Batter:
• 2 egg yolks
• 1 tbsp sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 tbsp canola oil
• 2 tbsp milk
• Pinch of salt
• Pink good colouring
For Egg White Meringue:
• 2 egg whites
• 1/8 tsp cream of tartar
• 3 tbsp sugar
Additional Ingredients:
• Melted milk and white chocolate
• Ice cream cones
• Sprinkles
• Icing
• Zip-top bag
• Kitchen scissors
Helpful Tip
All cutting and use of kitchen appliances should be done by an adult.
Directions
1. Prepare egg yolk batter by whisking the egg yolks and sugar together until the sugar melts. Then add in vanilla extract, oil, milk, salt and pink food colouring. Mix well. Sift in cake flour and mix well.2. Then, prepare egg white meringue by whisking the egg whites with cream of tartar for one minute, then gradually pour in sugar and continue to whisk until firm peaks form.
3. Scoop out 1/3 of the meringue and mix well with the egg yolk batter. Then, gently fold in the remaining meringue. Scoop out around 10 tablespoons of the batter and add in more pink colouring, then gently fold to mix.
4. Scoop batter into dome moulds. (They should be a little bigger than the ice cream cone opening.)
5. Bake at 149°C for 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
6. Let cakes cool down completely before removing them from the mould.
7. Use melted milk chocolate to draw Piglet’s features. Place the chocolate in a zip-top bag, cut a small hole, pipe on parchment paper, leave in fridge to harden and then peel off. Use icing to attach Piglet’s features onto the cake.
8. To make Piglet’s ears, use a knife to cut the darker pink cake into slices. Then, use a pair of scissors to cut out his ears and nose. Attach on the nose with a little icing. Use a knife to make cuts where the ears should be, then dip the ends with a little icing before inserting in.
9. Coat rim of ice cream cone with melted chocolate and top with sprinkles. Place cake in cone and serve immediately. Enjoy!
